ABOUT
JJ Alcalde is a studio-based accessories company, founded by Jessica Alcalde in 2020. We create one-of-a-kind pieces, small capsule collections, and a few seasonal staples, allowing us to be nimble and responsive to trends, material availability, and our evolving inspirations. Each piece is handmade with love and intention in our Brooklyn studio. We strive to minimize waste, promote self-confidence, and create long lasting beautiful things. Focusing on leather goods, we use traceable, ethically sourced leather and repurpose leather when available. Our clothing is made from natural fibers, upcycled materials, past seasons projects and deadstock fabrics. An integral part of our business is to further teach the art of caring for our items, infusing them with meaning and connection. Our aim is to be as responsible as possible, eventually becoming a zero-waste company. We are committed to evolving with the changing landscape of sustainability and to seek out ways to improve. Part of slow fashion is taking care of the things we already own. Read more about leather care here, a page we will be expanding in the future. |
